Sorry! I totally forgot that i'd posted on here! There are lots of charms that advertise they 'fit' pandora bracelets on ebay so maybe look there for those as they are a lot cheaper. Also, if any relatives phone up to ask if she wants anything you could suggest a charm to ease the cost on you maybe?

There are a few Pandora 'style' bracelets on ebay for a tenner or so at the moment, obviously I can't vouch for the quality of these ones, but would maybe be worth looking into? This style of bracelet is commonly called trollbead or biagi, there is also a similar one called lovelinks which I think H Samuals do (ha listen to my knowledge lol!). My advice is to get the bracelet as Pandora and then if you want to,buy the cheaper charms. I'm not sure if we're allowed to put this... but a seller on ebay called pandorababe looks like a good place for a first look. So anyway, first suggestion is try ebay! Let us know how you get on!

I'd give her what she asked for. My mother is always asking what I want and then getting me something else. I know she means well, but when I ask for something it's because I'd really like to have it.

Why not wrap it in interesting ways instead of getting something else altogether? Feed a bunch of pound coins into balloons, blow them up and then put them in a really big box and wrap it.

Maybe she realises that being 19 isn't really an exciting birthday - not like 18 or 21.

Or maybe as others have said, she really doesn't want anything else.

I always just wanted what I asked for - my parents alway bought me presents that I never wanted inorder to make it seem 'fair' with my brother. I just wanted more of what I asked for if they wanted to make it fair lol.

A lot of the presents they bought me end up on ebay now to help with our finances - so maybe they were good presents afterall :)

Personally, I'd just give her what she asked for. My parents bought me a lovely 'surprise' ring once but I knew I'd never wear it and asked them to take it back. I had a good night out with my friends instead - which seemed more important at the time.

Just because it doesn't seem exciting or much doesn't mean it isn't exactly what she wants :D

PS - Etsy is fab. I used to sell on there but the folks in the US can sell for cheaper than us poor UK lot lol. I do buy stuff from there though :D

Thanks everyone. This is what I ended up buying:

camisole pyjamas from La Senza with matching bra and knickers (actually from M&S)
Strawberry and vanilla candles from IKEA
Diamante heart keyring from Next Clearance shop
A Warren Smith ski clinic at the Snodome
    Haircut and colour

I was very tempted by pandora bracelets but wasn't sure as she likes gold and these cost a fortune. I've also bookmarked etsy as there is lovely stuff there but I didn't have the time to get something from the USA,
