Consumers rule OK!!! (So British Gas doesn't. . .)

Far be it from me to delight in the misfortunes of others, but. . .

Centrica is reporting a major drop in profits following the departure of 1.1 million British Gas customers in 2004 and the loss of a further 505,000 customers between January and June of 2005.

How sad.

Yet what a triumphant display of consumer commonsense.

Our experience of British Gas was horrendous, involving us in everything from an Energywatch intervention on our behalf to an OFT intervention to haul off British Gas's thuggish debt collectors for money that wasn't even owed.

Throughout our dealings with Centrica, we got the impression it believed the British Gas brand name was such a national institution that no-one would ever thinking of leaving it (or be too stupid to do so).

Now though. . .

Here's to another 500,000 customers leaving British Gas between June and the end of this year! :rotfl: :j
