Money life a bit mad.
3 credit cards, loan and overdraft. trying to work out the best root to financial betterness (if there is such a word)
I had a change of career, divorce and a another break up and now I am paying the price for my emotional dependency on getting by...I have not even bought a nice car or things just swapped money around from one to pay the other or to pay bills. I am a make up artist (used to be a nicely paid marketing manager) I work freelance and as an artist you get pad rubbish if at all when you start at the bottom so I have been doing freelance marketing projects for friend and other people I have met along the way. I am now in a dilemma and need my heart and head to stop fighting. I have about £20k in debt, and I am starting fr the first time in my life realise I cant make repayments on the credit cards...loan I can deal with dont know why the credit cards are freaking me out, its like i have control on my loan but not on my cards...do others feel that.
I am looking to get one big loan to cover it all so I only pay one amount do people think this is my best option or are there other ways?
Thanks all

There may be other ways, but we need to know a bit more about what cards you have, late payments, defaults etc. Consolidating by getting a loan is usually frowned upon in here as it is just moving the debt, not getting rid of it.
Post up a SOA and we'll see if there are any savings to be made. We should also be able to advise on cards and what should be getting the most attention.
This calculator will help.
