I have paid for 4 tyres, including fitting etc from protyre.co.uk and am going tomorrow to have them fitted. I have just received an email from them saying the price is wrong, and instead of the £69 I have already paid, the actual cost is £245. I can find no details on their T and C's about pricing errors.
Anyone know what I should do.
The tyres are 205/55R16 if anyone wants to look at the site, the price of £17 each is still displayed. I'm going to Micheldever in SO21.

If you have already paid then you have a legally binding contract, - they CANNOT ask you for the higher price. They have accepted the offer you have made, and therefore they cannot do this:beer: If I say something you like....Please hit the thanks button :beer:0

Didn't you smell a rat when the next cheapest tyre was over £50?
Beware some tyre fitters can turn nasty, a colleague found a couple of screwdriver made holes in his Cat after arguing over price with a tyre fitter.
PS Found Blackcircles offered a good service when I changes some tyres recently. That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -
oh my god! that's awful.
I emailed the tyre place and said that trading standards had said it was legally binding and he caved straight away and said he would honour it.
I'm worried about the rest of my car now!:beer:0 -

It doesn't really matter what rats I may or may not have smelled....the order was accepted at that price and payment was taken. As a good money saver, I couldn't not go for it.
It's still at that price on their website, btw:beer:0 -
Pleased you got a result, hope the fitting goes alright for you, another tactic is where they find your brake pads are worn, which of course they can fix whilst the wheels are off. That gum you like is coming back in style.0

All I would say is that if they are honouring it at that price then they may try and get the money out of you another way, so if they claim that there is any other work needed on your car then tell them you already have it booked in somewhere else to have it done.
Glad they are going to honour the price for you! :T0 -
I have four beautiful new tyres for £69. Micheldever tyres is such a massive operation, with so many people that the fitters have no idea what price you have paid, so I have no concerns for my vehicle.
I would recommend them actually, renowned for being considerably cheaper than anywere else. Just don't say I sent you!:beer:0
