FD Joint Application

For anyone who has applied for a First Direct joint mortgage lately.

Do both applicants need to be customers or just one account for the mortgage to come out of?

I opened an account and ran through the mortgage application. Then my OH ran through an account with them - I seem to recall he did need to have an account.

We don't have a joint bank account, and we want to offset, so we both need accounts with them anyway.

We just applied last week and they only needed one of us to have a One Account. But in the application they ask if you want to transfer to them. I'm going to as both current accounts can be offset against the mortgage.
