:o Have to be a bit discrete about unloading stuff though as it p**s the assistants off if they see me doing it!

    .

Yes it does I use to work night shift stacking shelves for a well know supermarket. And use to annoy the heck out of me when people would just chuck stuff where ever.

Like trainers in with the crisps etc etc.

Mind you the system we had was to put it at the end of aisle and someone would come around with a trolley would pick it up and find it's correct home.

I used to treat myself sometimes to a Starry's coffee & cake when out. But now I spend the fiver on some nice bread, cheese & a couple of cakes. Lunches for a few days and still feels like a treat.

I often buy reduced to clear danish pastries and freeze them. So when I want a treat with my coffee it means I have a really nice cake at tiny price.

I always put things back where I found them.
I think it's funny when you see the BOGOF/sales stuff and there are all the not-on-sale-now alternatives dropped right there. Like, "Oh, I was going to buy this cheese until I got to the end of the aisle and saw Cathedral City on offer!" and so they leave the cheese right there.

What annoys me is people leaving frozen things elsewhere. So wasteful and rude!

My rule is: a bargain is not a bargain if you don't need it.

That said, sometimes it's good to treat ourselves to what we like, otherwise life wouldn't be worth living. It's when we make a habit of it that it becomes silly. I still have about 80 soap bars from years of hoarding...:o

    errrmmm....there you go then....basis for home-made detergent:

    2 parts finely grated soap
    1 part borax
    1 part washing soda

Add 2 Tablespoons per wash (straight into the laundry drum!). Bingo. Works too - I do it.

Lilac Lady - just think "ceridwen would be here slapping my wrists if I dont put x/y/z back";) :D

    Ohhhh thanks ceridwen! :j :j

I do not have a washing machine because my small flat doesn't have the space. I was a lot by hand and only go to the launderette for bedding, towelling and clothes such as jeans etc. I shall certainly make use of your recipe! :A

Just come back from Asda, DS had put a cap in the trolley (oh it was so sweet and looked so cute on him) It was £3.50 and by the time we had got to the checkout one of the decorative buttons had come off (left a nasty metal 'stick' behind) so told the cashier i didn't want it.

Son had a crying fit but i had been umming and ahhing over it all the way round the shop anyway as i'd just bought him a new school cap so £3.50 saved. :j

My lagers were £3.56 but what the hey lol
