Overdraft

I have had an email from Alliance and Leicester to say I have been accepted for one of their premier accounts (the ones where they match your overdraft with 0% interest for a year). Will wait for the written confirmation to come through so I can see if they are definitely prepared to match my O/D.
If A&L do match the O/D this will be fab for me, I currently have £3,600 O/D with Natwest and the fact they're charging such high interest means I'm unable to get the balance down on it at all so fingers crossed
I can close my Natwest account down completely then only debt I have with them will be my loan of approx £4.5k.

Good news then!!
Will keep my fingers crossedIn Jan 2007 I had a debt of £27,896.00 :eek:In October 2011 I paid it off and owned £0.00 - Kinda proud of this!:T0 -
That'll be great, will you be able to throw more at your loan to overpay it?? or are you just going to have a bit of an easier time of clearing your overdraft??
Sorry, just very nosey!
Hope it works out:TComping again - wins so far : 2 V festival tix, 2 NFL tix, 6 bottles of wine, personalised hand soap, Aussie miracle conditioner

you found the key quicker than I thought....very pleased for you!!For what I've done...I start again...And whatever pain may come ...Today this ends... I'm forgiving what I've done -AF since June 20070 -
It should just give me 12 months where I can actually throw some money to try and get the O/D done instead of being charged £50 interest per month and feeling depressed knowing I just can't get that down
I am doing quite well with spending aside from that as a result of advice from here, so far so goodMoney doesn't make you happy so I'm skint but cheerful :beer:0 -
Well done poppyg. Glad you've got another angle to tackle the debt from. Just remember to keep on top of your outgoings - perhaps with a spending diary. Hopefully you'll never need to use an o/d again. After falling off the gambling wagon (twice): £33,600 (24,000+ 9,600) - Original CC Debt: £7,885.91
Dad Gift 6k ¦ Savings & Inv Tst: £2,500
Loan 10k: £0 ¦ Dad 5.5k: £2,270 ¦ LTSB: £0 ¦ RBS: £0 ¦ Virgin £0 ¦ Egg £0
Total Owed: £2,270 (+6k) 11/08/20110 -
Yes definitely want to do a spending diary, great suggestion.
I have set up a spreadsheet at home which lists absolutely everything that comes out of the account so I am basically now giving myself a 'weekly allowance' (bit like pocket money I guess!!) on a Saturday morning!!
Am hoping I can try and get the OD paid off as soon as I can, have got a new job which I start in July and it's extra pay I can basically use to get this down whilst I'm not paying interestMoney doesn't make you happy so I'm skint but cheerful :beer:0
