Help-Threatened with debt collection but not us

Hi Newbie here
Have had post for somebody who doesnt live at our address (lived here nearly 15years) and have regularly been sending it back "not known at this address - never lived here" etc
Got some more post today for same person. It wasnt sealed properly so I looked at it. It is from debt collectors and includes the following
It is our intention to issue the Statutory Demand (Form 6.1) on or around 23 May 08 where it will be personally served upon you.
My partner keeps telling me not to worry about these letters - they looked like debt recovery (not initially) - but I am worried.
Is there anything they can do? What should I be doing? If anything?
By the way it is for a credit card debt of £4251
Please any advice welcome
Thanks and regards

I wouldn't just ignore them, I would send a letter back to them explaining such a person has never lived at this address. It might also be worth you checking with a credit checking agency such as Experian, to make sure your credit rating is in order.0

might be worth a call, to let them know the person hasnt been there (for a long time!). though also check if any a/cs (credit check?) opened recently, using your address / ID ?Long time away from MSE, been dealing real life stuff..
Sometimes seen lurking on the compers forum :-)0
