HI all,
I was wondering if you would be able to help.
I have recently changed jobs, in my previous job I had a pension plan, which I think is worth approx £5k. I have been told that the pension company who administer the fund will write to me with the options I have now that I have left. Do you know if I will have the option of cashing this in or selling it etc?
I am 23 and the pension I now have at my new job is much better than what I had before, and the extra money would come in handy!! lol
Many Thanks,
Graham

You almost certainly will not be able to cash it in or sell it (I think it's only if you were in your previous job less than three months that you can cash it in).
You can either have it deferred until you are 55,when you can draw it as a pension, or maybe transfer it to your new pension scheme.(AKA HRH_MUngo)

Imagine someone holding forth on biology whose only knowledge of the subject is the Book of British Birds, and you have a rough idea of what it feels like to read Richard Dawkins on theology: Terry Eagleton0 -
is there any time limit in which you must decide if you want to transfer a pension from old job scheme to new job scheme?
thanks.Keep the Faith:cool:0 -
I am waiting to hear off them regarding everything, due to some completely stupid mix-ups with the company (which is the main reason I want to get my money out of there), everything has been delayed by nearly 8 weeks so should hopefully hear soon.0
