TK Maxx tips for more bargains, share yours too!

Hi,
Needless to say I love the above named shop, even more so when they mis-size fab things which then often wind up in the clearence section. Their common mistakes in the one near me are:
Sizing american brands (esp Tommy Hillfiger and Ralph Laren) the same as uk. For example, I am looking for a 12, so after checking whats in that section, I take a look to se if there are any in the 8 section (checking the size on the clothing rather than the shop one). There often are ones mis-sized there, which is fab as american 8 = british 12.
Sizing european brands (lacoste and kooki amongst others), this one is a bit more tricky as there sizing for this seems to be all over the place! French and other European brands seem to have slightly diff sizes. But worth checking out whats around. Eg, a Lacoste top labelled a 16 on a tk max tag, but with 42 on the clothing. Is actually a 10 or 12 (can never quite remember).
These often end up on the clearance racks as if you were just looking for your size, they would be far to big or small for you! Eg, just yesterday they had chloe and alexander mcqueen in the clearence, with totally the wrong size on!
Hope that helps, has certainly got me a few more bargains!
xx

P.S. please excuse bad spelling!

    Be careful - a European 42 is actually a UK 14!
    Gone ... or have I?

Only ever found a couple of bargains in 10 years. This is not really a good shop for bargains - cant afford designer stuff even at their prices.

    But thanks anyway OP.
:o Keep trying.........................what else is there to do? :o

I agree with spanner, Yesterday picked up a pair of white jeans (May yet be a mistake!!) marked as size 4 eng, which I'm not for £7.00 reduced from £129.00. I do agree there are many times when there is nothing resembing a bargain but other times I could spend a fortune.
  • Last year I bought a pair of shoes that didn't have any labels or stickers on them and were the last pair they had, they called over the section boss who looked at other shoes on the shelves and said they were £17.99,I pointed out the cheapest pair and said they looked like them and got them for £3 less.
