Hi
in the process of moving house, with a move in date of the 7th of Oct
not long.
Anyway i'm going with the nationwide and they have just contacted my workplace is this the norm ? and what are they looking for ?
i've was with the halifax before (3.5yrs) and i only seen them once and heard from them once no problems, but Nationwide just seem really fussy, almost to the point im worried they are going to tell me to get lost
Any thought would be great !

Mrs W borrowed -£5k last year for an unsecured car loan from NW and they rang her place of work just to check she worked where she said she did. Just part of their security checks I presume. Wouldn't worry too much, unless you're pulling a fast one of course!0

Cheers
Well the thing thats bothering me as i am on a rolling contract type thing no end date or anything, the same as i was when i went to the halifax which they said as long as you have been in the same line of work for x amount of years it's no problem ! I've been in the same line of work for 8 years under the same type of contract, just thought Nationwide would have the same outlook.
but i worried they think it's a problem, whats getting my back up is we are putting down 25%. i would hardly think we are a risk.money money money stress

It is normal for them as they are very fussy. Your company should not have told them anything without your prior consent.

No I still think it's security [money laundering, anti-fraud etc]. If they'd a prob with your contract I think they'd have asked for more details of that, rather than just confirming you work where you say you do. BoL & chill  !!0

I believe this is standard procedure for most mortage lenders. My employer was contacted by A&L many years ago."Food has replaced sex in my life. Now, even I can't get into my own pants."0 -
Cheers everyone
Thanks for putting my mind at rest.0 -
I think they just need to check you do actually work there.
I wouldn't worry, if you have been doing the same thing for 8 years its as secure as an employed position I would say. Don't panic.0
