Hello, I'm going away in 3 weeks and will be purchasing US Dollars, My question is that I see that the ratio is falling but has done so before and "recovered", Would it be best to buy the $ now or wait to see the rate improves (for brits)?

Oh dear, here we go again.
You could buy now or you could buy later.
The rate may go up or it may go down.0 -
Sorry my mistake, I thought this site was aout helping people not patronising people!
I realise mystic meg is not present, but thought some kind advice from an educated individual might be a possibility.
You may have seen this question countless times but I only asked once!

pickles.....
a couple of points...
1 - there is a dedicated thread for Currency. this should have been added in that, rather than creating a new post
2 - doing a search, will show you 100's of threads identical to your own..
3 - no one knows. if we did, we'd be millionaires..
4 - as discussed many times before, dubloons are the future, and no other currency is required.. it may be difficult to get change though..
5 - also, Incapuppy wasn't patronising, it was a truthful post, with the facts on. That IMO is helping! It's better than lying and saying that the rate will go up to $2 on the day before you leave, which it may do, but if we say that and it didn't, you'd whinge!

I think you will find that any educated individual will give you the same advice that I have already given you. Moreoever if you had done a forum search for 'dollars' you would have found that the same question has been asked hundreds of times before and the answer has always been the same.
Thank you Markymoo, now where's the bear when you need him?
He's either counting his dubloons or is fast asleep in the sunshine, go and poke him with a sharp stick would you? ;0)0 -

pickles ...people eventually get fed up of the same stupid questions being asked.0

pickles... at no point was anyone bullying you... we're telling you the TRUTH...
now, if you really want, i'll answer your question without making any kind of jokes...
Ok... you're going away in 3 weeks. You need $... IMO, i'd buy my dollars about a week before i'm travelling, without checking the exchange rate now, or after. this then means you think you have the best..
we're not bullying you.. it is impossible to know what the currency market is going to do!!!!
you obviously can't take a bit of a joke, at your own expense, and think you're being bullied... you should laugh, smile, and think, oh !!!!, i should have used the search function!!!

If in doubt purchase half now and get half just before you leave, that way you will know what half the rate is, if not buy 1/3rd now a 1/3rd before you go and use your credit card for the other expected 1/3rd and get bank rate not tourist rate. I would not expect a drastic change in the rate over the next few weeks and if you changed £2000 for the trip a 5 cent dollar swing is only $100 down. have a great trip."Man invented language to satisfy his deep need to complain."
