Just for the record guys.
Pickles, you can spout this ' it'll never happen, depseration rubbish until the cows come home ' - do yourself a favour. Month on month falls for a long time. The die is cast.
!!!!!! - thanks for your concern, but I would be buying with my eyes wide open. No mortgage, but circumstances dictate and all that.

Maybe in your area but it still has not caught up round here and where I work we are still hiring starting at £28k per year. After 3 years good service record it goes up to 33k.Then on top you can normally boost it to £40k with overtime.
Not bad rates for manual non skilled workforce.0 -

Yes, businesses are still are hiring and I'm considering a new job offer myself. However, to repeat the point again employment is a lagging indicator. It only starts really dropping after everything else has gone to pot.
House prices started dropping month on month last Sept/Oct. Retail sales are showing real weakness and we are seeing the first signs of employment dropping too.
As Rover said, the die is cast. It's just a matter of sitting and watching the dominoes fall now.--
Every pound less borrowed (to buy a house) is more than two pounds less to repay and more than three pounds less to earn, over the course of a typical mortgage.0 -

I always change jobs for the company I work for every two years or so.However this time I might stay in this current role longer as finally been given free license to look at our front line operation.0 -
I agree !!!!!! employment tends to be last of the dominoes falling. It was quoted on the internet as unemployment increasing already. I know of a housebuilder who has the letters written to staff about them losing their jobs. Also those in higher positions are now worrying about their jobs. Construction and all those supported by it have seen a significant decrease in jobs/orders. We ourselves have just won a contract thank goodness but may not be enough to keep all our employees. Things are going to get worse before they get better.....0
