Letters From DCA for CCJ debts

sorry if this question has been answered before, I've spent days searching without finding the relevant information.
My Mum has had a letter from debt managers ltd for an old empire stores debt, which had a ccj against it in 10/2004. Since then she did pay about £100 off to the debt agency in 2005/06.
Can she ask for a CCA against a debt that has got a CCJ attached to it. I rang National Debtline, the lady was very helpful, she said apply to the court to arrange payment with them but the court is showing a larger amount outstanding, so not sure where to go from here.
I am trying to sort this for mum as she has mental health problems, has been in and out of hospital, on and off anti-depressants since december 1968 and is now a pensioner and to be honest she should never have been given any form of credit, imo. thanks for any advice
