Hi guys.
I shall try to explain my situation best as I can, but it’s a long one.
About 10+ years ago, I popped into a Tiny PC store and got myself a top of the range PC for buy now pay later. This gave me a year to come up with the £1500 for the PC. During that year I had time to see that Tiny were pretty useless, a lot of the PC failed and they failed to replace certain parts etc. Now this is where I truly cannot remember what happened, but I do know is, I refused to pay up when the year was up. Obviously they demanded their money and so the legal letters came flying through. I think the debate was over some insurance they tapped on the deal, almost doubling the amount I would have to pay.
Fast forward 10 years, im still getting occasion letters from various debt agencies, namely Tricity finance. Each letter states the same, pay up the amount of £3000+ or go to court. Nothing has ever happened, and since Tiny closed down due to many problems (im sure they weren’t the most honest of companies either) I thought its pointless paying.
Here’s the thing, about 4 years ago, I receive a letter off people representing Tiny stating, thanks for paying in full and the debt was written off. I was stunned but happy. I thought I was in the clear. But alas, I wasn’t. I sent this letter off to the county court to explain my situation and they told me the letter was a mistake and it means nothing.
My problem is, my credit score thanks to Tiny is horrendous. And to this day they are pestering me still for the money. Is there a way to sort this? Surely 10 years is long enough?
Im sorry I don’t have much information but im at work typing this. And I also know it comes across as “I got a PC, I didn’t pay, my fault” but there’s more to it than that.
Advice on clearing this off is greatly appreciated.

Hi
When was the CCJ registered, at which court? If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0 -
2005 i beleive, by Tricity finance.
After investigation, I now know why I didnt pay. At the time ticked to the end of the year, I realised i couldnt afford it, so I decided to take out a £1500 loan to pay off the computer. But because the loan took an extra day to come through and ticked over ONE day over the deadline, Tiny refused and doubled it to over £3000. Thats why all this started.0
