Transfers of Equity

My ex-husband and I had two mortgages, one of which I was taken off after our divorce settlement - or so I thought. Having applied for a credit card recently, they highlighted this mortgage which I have not been paying obviously but it is still in my name. My ex is not available for comment right now! I'm pretty sure I received notification from the mortgage company re: transfer of equity.

I believe I need to ask him to contact the mortgage company to ensure that the credit reference agencies are informed that I'm no longer involved with him. How can we do this? What recourse may I have for compensation on this as the mortgage company have repeatedly made errors on my actual mortgage and now I discover this - I feel their ineptitude to tell the credit ref. agency is unacceptable.

Any advice will be gratefully received!
