Trying to enforce a judgement - anyone know any bailiffs?

That's what I was going to do originally and still might if I have to (I know everything except his payroll number) but again, papers need to go to the defendant - giving him another opportunity to ignore them and the court to do nothing about it (I mean, send bailiffs round when they know he isn't in and then say it was 'impossible' to serve any papers on him).
I did read somewhere today though that if the defendant ignores the court, they may go straight to the employer. Does anyone know if this is true?
Hi - you can issue attachment of earnings without knowing any of the employer details so you will be fine issuing with the employer name and address. Once the attachment is issued the forms that are produced (N55 and N56) are served via post. The defendant will then get 8 days to reply - if they havent replied in this time frame, then it goes to next stage - N61 for the defendant (via bailiff service) which I know may be no good for you but at the same time an N338 gets issued to the employer via post. The defendant can ignore as much as they want but a full order (ie direct from the wages) will be made once the employer responds.
Hope that helps but if ive made no sense at all just ask x xPay Debt by Xmas 16 - 0/12000

That's excellent news! I basically just want way to get my money back that doesn't rely solely on the court bailiffs contacting the defendant so this is perfect. Thanks for your help, and you hev. I'm feeling slightly more optimistic about things (only slightly though!)0

Excellent thread, I'm in exactly the same boat as the OP, and strangely, the amount of money I'm trying to recover is almost an identical sum. I'm pretty brassed off with the whole court procedure too, one of my friends is a bailiff but for council tax only, and one of my friends works at the County Court I'm dealing with doing admin as a temp but hasn't been able to point me to anyone who could help me very much - filed a request for "oral examination" I think it was called but he just ignored it (I was under the impression they'd put out a warrant for his arrest, but he never acknowledged the request in the first place so I've been feeling a bit stuck).
Been going on since early '06 in my case, maybe I've been a bit slack about it though, in my mind the money's been written off I suppose.0 -
Hi Gnome - did the N39 papers (order to attend questionning) get served by the bailiffs on the defendant or were they unable to serve? xPay Debt by Xmas 16 - 0/12000
