Do you like swimming? or walking? some thing that you can do that wont take up too much time (cuz youve got kids) and that you can enjoy. .
While swimming and walking are very good for you and I support the idea that everyone should participate in physical activity we do have to separate that out from Weight loss.

Exercise does NOT make you thinner

People who exercise reward themselves be eating more food. (read the link to discover what actually happens in real life)

My weight loss has averaged 5 ounces daily since 23rd January. I would have to have walked 10miles daily to achieve that. Much as I would like to be able to that simply isn't physically possible for me.

You can easily lose weight without increasing the amount of exercise you do.

Although exercise is healthy and good for you it is NOT an essential element to a weight loss program.

You don't have to eat fewer calories than your body needs for basal metabolic needs.

You just have to cut out those calories that encourage your body to burn glucose and store fat.

PS I have edited this post in the light of the reply. In case others have misread my post and think I'm against exercise then here are a few more links

Part 1: Exercise and Get Smart

Part 2: Exercise and Get Smarter

Part 3: Exercise and Get Happy!

You need to exercise as much as your body permits for the good of your brain and your heart. But don't think it will help you lose weight. Your metabolism will adjust to compensate for your extra fitness, your appetite will adjust to compensate for the extra calorie requirement.

Going on about exercise for weight loss leads to people (particlarly those who are disabled or otherwise unable to exercise) thinking that it is inevitable they will put on weight when they don't exercise.

In the same way that exercise will not make you thinner, so lack of exercise is NOT AN EXCUSE for being fat.
You are fat because you are eating foods that cause your body to store fats rather than burn them off.

Stop eating foods that disrupt insulin and blood sugar balance and your body will dispose of excess calories via the loo.

To be healthy and keep at a healthy weight you need regular exercise as well as eating right.

Not everyone rewards themselves with more food-some people actually do other things.

Part of the Furniture 1,000 Posts Name Dropper Combo Breaker
i have to agree low carb is the only thing that works for me as its the only 'diet' i have ever done where i dont have cravings after the first week and can stick to with ease...

i focus on the things i can eat rather than the things i cant.. if there is something eg pizza that i really want i make a lowcarb base and add toppings (most of which are lowcarb anyways) for bread i make a lowcarb one etc etc

at the end of the day people can kick yr butt as much as u want but its down to u so u have to find something that can work for u in the long term

oh and ted jus to explain the atkins 2 week induction is not just meat its protein with 2 cups of salad and 1 cup of veg (from a list) a day up to a maximum of 20carbs, u then add various things in..yr plan looks very similar in fact... gary taubes has been very influential in the states but isnt much known over here unfortunately

good luck with whatever u decide
