Are you taking out a loan with them or claiming back ppi? I am trying to claim back ppi and its taken since February being fobbed off and now its gone to the FOS as they are not coughing up. If you are taking a loan with them i would not recommend it as they have awful interest rates, the service is rubbish and thwe staff arent trained properly. Watch out for ppi with your loan too they have ripped off loads of people with it just check out this site for victims

No im talking about a loan, ive not taken the ppi and that was clear on the forms i sent back to them so its just a case of finding out how long it takes from having sent the forms and paper work back for verification

    Thanks

it took me no time at all. I filled out the application then was invited into my local branch to sign the forms and take copies of id and payslips etc i was given a cheque the same day. I would go to welcome finance website and give your local branch a ring they should snap your hand off and arrange a meetying. I got cheque same day as the meeting on unsecured loans not sure if its different if your loan is secured on property though

Can i just ask what interest you guys got quoted? I have recently made an enquiry with them, and over a 4 year period i'd be paying just short of double what i'm loaning from them.
  • 41 % thats quite good for them.

I sent my forms back last week and there saying that they still havent got the details on the system which is why i wondered if any1 has done this in the last month and how long it took

says it all really they havent got your details on the system! If this is how they treat you now when they are trying to get you to take the loan out imagine what they are going to be like if you have a problem or query etc. They really are appauling it took me about 8 letters and faxes in total to get a copy of my loan agreements and to this day i am still missing 2 of them. They even ignored the FOS when they ordered them to give me a copy of my loan agreements...they are currently investigating now. My interest rates were shocking i had 5 loans in total have established i kept renewing like a fool getting worse in debt until now. The interest rates varied fromm 44% to 74% never less than that. Watch out for the admin fees they stick in there and the insurances if you have to use them which i strongly do not recommemend go through that agreement with a fine toothcombe and dont believe a word the salesman tells you he will fill your head with rubbish. Dont let him talk you into anything make sure you read smallprint

I'm in a similar position. I'm taking out an extension on an existing loan with Welcome (I know, but I am in a sticky situation, and I can afford the repayments). Original loan which I did over the phone and by post was there in a few days (That was last year). This one I actually took my documents and signed the agreements in person at their office, at which point they started mentioning 'system problems' and that they couldn't issue me a cheque yet (Also strange that they would issue a cheque rather than just do a bank transfer). That was tuesday ( starting ringing them on Monday, but they stalled me then). I've been badgering them each day - I've told them if they don't contact me by lunchtime today I will keep ringing until they can put me through to someone who can give me a straight answer.
  • Did they contact you, i have phoned up and they have said that everything is verified, the direct debit is set up and the money will be with me in the next 5 days, do you think that it will?

I finally got my Cheque on Monday.
Maybe there is something in their story about systems problems as it was a hand written cheque. So a week to get the cheque despite being an existing customer, and taking my documents and signing in person. Of course then the cheque takes ages to clear, so i'd take any advert that says you can get the cash today to mean in two weeks time!
