How far back do mortgage companies look?

Basically, a few months ago I was very silly and paid a number of credit card bills late (not that I couldn't afford, was just being lazy). I now have 5 late payment marks on my credit report over the last 9 months (never more than 1 month late). I do also have lots of "on time" payments over the same period for things that went out by DD eg loan, mobile phone, other credit cards.
My question is, how far back do mortgage companies look for/care about late payments like these? I'm probably going to be looking to buy in 18 months-2 years, have a good salary and will have a decent deposit. I don't owe anyone a penny and other than this blip my credit record is excellent. Have I managed to push myself into sub-prime territory by a few months of stupidity?
Thanks

Some lenders only look at the last 12 months, others look at the last three years. You should be ok to go mainstream by the time you're looking if they're the only blipsI am a Mortgage Adviser
