Any ideas on use for an old fridge?

I've found an old fridge in my new back garden. It was completely hidden from view by a bramble tangle so I don't think it's seen use in a loooooooooong time. I'm not even going to try plugging it in given its obvious age and the length of time it must have been outside. Plus, I'm guessing it must be broken to have been dumped in the garden in the first place.
Now, I know I can take it to the dump for it to be drained/recycled, but I was wondering if it might be better to reuse it in some way. Just not sure what way - I thought of bunging a padlock on it and using it as a gardening cupboard but presumably all that insulation makes it quite warm in there, so probably not a good idea.
Soooo has anybody got any ideas for alternative use? I have seen ways to make a solar panel from it, but short of relocating my bathroom outside I don't see how the hot water would be any use to me
. Or would it be more ecologically sound to just take it to the dump? I'm confused....

I think I've heard of old fridges being used to make compost, the heat activiating the porcess. Does it have the shelves and compartment/drawers still inside it - I bet you or someone else could find a use for those?0

That was more with the old ones that had a catch you couldnt undo from inside. more modern with magnets aren't quite so dangerous. The truth may be out there, but the lies are inside your head. Terry Pratchett

Best to always take the door off - it can be dangerous for a small animal to get trapped inside and asphyxsiate0

I would imagine leaving it out with the danger of the pipes to get damaged or corroded and the gas escaping isn't very green or ethical!
MPI have a poll / discussion on Economy 7 / 10 off-peak usage (as a % or total) and ways to improve it but I'm not allowed to link to it so have a look on the gas/elec forum if you would like to vote or discuss.

why not just leave it where it is to rest in peace0

On another forum, someone had taken their old fridge door off and hung it on a wall in their teenagers bedroom, to act as a magnetic noticeboard.0

with a little sticky back plastic you could transform it into Tracy Island0
