bartering?

I am setting up a new business offering a service and I know there are bartering products and services out there which allow you to barter services rather than pay for them or charge for them. This seems a great way to save money as well as attract new customers, but I don't know the names of any of these bartering systems or how they work. Does anyone have any experience of them and can share their pros and cons with me? I imagine they must have pitfalls as well as advantages? Thanks!

I know of Bartercard which acts a bit like a credit card but that's all I know!

I think there is something called a LETS scheme but it might be called something different in different areas of the country.
Local Exchange Trading System.
If you Googgle LETS it should link you to the national organisation."This site is addictive!"

I join in 2004. Am told I was their most skeptical member, my moto is if it sounds to good to be true it probably is. Joining was without doubt one of the best decissions I have made in Business. You have to work at it and like anything you have to negotiate!
Join Bartercard if you learn how to use it, it will work well for you!0
