newbie looking for any help and advice

This is me pulling my hair out and asking for help.

so here goes had my light bulb moment on sunday when i finally lost the plot.
My OH has no idea about the stress thats involved in trying to sort our finances no matter how much i try. He has his head firmly covered in sand.

over the past 7 years we have had to extend our morgage to pay off the first round of debt and then it crept up again resulting in a 3000 overdraft and c/c totaling over 10,000 and loans totaling 25,000. this was totally unmanagable and we ended up taking a secure loan against our home for 37,000.

you think we'd learn but no. i didn't know it but he hadn't cancelled his c/c 's and was still using them. they have crept up again to about 7,500 ish. (OH says Emergencies) ( MY Left £$% its emergencies)

The money on my C/C was for paying off the holiday he was treating me to for my up coming Bday. I had to bail him out coz he hadn't saved the money up "didn't have enough time" 15 months isn't enough time!!!

Anyway need to stop critisising and get constructive. Please help me, If only to save my sanity.

As a side note. i spend time listening to some of the women that i work with. None of them seem to have a good handle on money either. two have got CCJ's and are paying debt collectors. I was always brought up to believe these were bad things (swear words even) Dont really feel that i can talk about this sort of thing with them as i'm not in the same sort of position yet and trying to prevent myself gettin there. There usual advice is get rid of OH and you will be better off. (useless)
