Urgent fridge freezer delivery required! Any white goods tips?

Just got a call from stressed friend who lives in the middle of no-where in mid-Wales.
Her fridge-freezer went bang yesterday, and the surviving stuff is in a neighbours freezer.
She lives in the middle of no-where, and doesn't have a large enough car to collect. She's tried freecycle and the local tip, but nothing going there.
I've been trying to help, and the best I can find so far is Comet for a £149 fridge freezer with £24 delivery - trouble is, this Saturday is the nearest time.
As I don't buy a lot of white goods, I don't know all the deals around - can anyone else suggest somewhere which might be able to deliver maybe even today, to the middle of Powys? (about 30 miles from the nearest big town). In respect of delivery cost, £24 isn't bad for that far, but time is of the essence. All advice appreciated!

Wow - thanks for all those ideas. The Co-op it is - I didn't know about them at all, and I don't think you can get better than free for next day delivery (although for her area, it's Tuesdays and Thursdays only, but tomorrow happens to be next day anyway!).
Great, all done, thanks so much for responses. (Now if only I could teach her to be less net-phobic, she could do this herself next time!)
Consider the Thanks button pushed!0 -

I have given up on the likes of Currys, Comet, Dixons etc, they may be cheaper but you cant get a quick delivery and if something goes wrong you have to fit in with them not them work around your life to mend it. I always prefer to buy local now, normally same day delivery and whatever I have bought they have either installed it or "shoved" it into place for me. Washer had a fault, I told them when I would be home and they worked around it....thumbs up for small local traders :T0

Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: I’ve asked Board Guides to move threads if they’ll receive a better response elsewhere (please see this rule) so this post/thread has been moved to another board, where it should get more replies. If you have any questions about this policy please email !!!!!!.0

We were in a similar situation recently, and although I would have hung out for delivery of a cheaper fridge. We overhead someone talking in Currys about a local shop that sold graded goods. We went there, got a lovely fridge and delivered that night. There is nothing either good or bad but thinking makes it so.0
