for nastiness and generally unhelpfulness?
I only ask as I phoned them up last night to ask if some arrangement could be made about reducing the interest rate (most of the monthly payment seems to be swallowed up in interest) and perhaps reducing the payment and the guy on the other end of the phone was so patronising it was unbelieveable.
Yes I know I'm up a creek without a paddle but yes I want to get try and pay back everything I owe but there's no need to kick me whilst I'm down.

I don't deal with Marbles but I have dealt with MBNA. I'm on a DMP with CCCS at the moment and surprisingly MBNA have been the only creditor who have not hassled me, willingly accepted the reduced payments and were the first to freeze interest and I've not heard from them since December 2007. They are my largest unsecured creditor (I owe them nearly 9k), but they've left me alone. Maybe I have it all to come. Halifax and Barclaycard are the ones that hassle me the most and I owe them 1.5k and 2.5k respectively and they are being sods!! I'm certainly preparing myself for the onslaught from MBNA having read the horror stories about them but so far they've been !!!!!cats!Debt 30k in 2008.:o Cleared all my debt in 2013 and loving being debt free
Mortgage free since 20140 -
think Marbles have potential but they're nowhere near as widely known...only a select few of us with them, eh?
how are things with you MOD...it's been a while since I saw you post...things OK?For what I've done...I start again...And whatever pain may come ...Today this ends... I'm forgiving what I've done -AF since June 20070 -
Strangely enough OP I had a similar conversation with marbles regarding my interest. The person I spoke to was useless, so iasked to speak to a manager, who denied there were any such departments that dealt with "interest" and it was a bank decision given increased costs, when I pointed out the base rate had been reduced I was told they couldnt comment on other banks.
They did lodge my complaint, which someone called Shabaaz (can we put surnames down?) responded to saying they were sorry that i was unhappy my card had been transferred to SAV credit - was that my complaint?
I then wrote, which was responded to by Angela who basically stated "we can do what we like, when we like with our interest rate, its in our terms and conditions, you cant do nothing about, tough titty"
Unfortunately, I havnt got enough spare dosh to pay them off, and I cant get a card to transfer them to.No Longer works for MBNA as of August 2010 - redundancy money will be nice though.

Hi there,
I've also been stung by the huge interest rate increase from Marbles - it just doesn't seem right that they can do that?! Does anyone know if we can challenge this? I have £9200 on this card which as you can imagine is massive repayments and it seems like I'm just paying off the interest each month!!
Thank you0
