    Hiya

I would suggest that you both read this and if they continue to scare you, report them to the Trading Standards as they will be acting in direct contravention of the OFT Guidelines for Debt Collection:

Whilst you are about it also OFt as they now accumulate compalints and write to DCAS demanding better behaviour

  • Thank you so much! Ok am going to send a letter requesting the CCA and see what happens. Was reading some other posts on the site about how long I need to allow for them to send it and stuff but not too sure I really understand. Is it 12 working days plus some more?

Sorry for all these questions, just really trying hard to get this right. Also if they do send it should we then go back to them and offer a reduced settlement or something? I have been working so hard on our finances and worked out that with a lot of cut backs we could probably pay half by next month. Is this un-realistic or am I getting way ahead of myself here?

    Hi
After 12 working days plus 2 days to allow for postage, they are in default.

After an additional 30 calendar days, they commit an offence if they pursue him further.

  • Ok thank you so much. Letter will be posted tomorrow so fingers crossed!

  • Ok got letter all ready to send to APEX. Do I send a Postal Order with it? Is this just like a cheque or something and do I just get it made out to Apex? Sorry that might sound a bit dumb but I have never had a postal order before

If you have a separate account ot OH, then a checque would be fine. For the PO order, you need to go to the Post Office.

We generally advise not letting DCAs and the like know bank account numbers.
