Help with credit card debt - what to expect now

Hi
Can anyone please help me. I am in a right mess and going out of my mind with worry.
I haven’t paid any payments at all on my credit cards since end of February – I have had no income until then. I have received all the phone calls, chase letters etc and spoke to all my debtors telling them I would make a payment by 6th May. I haven’t been able to keep to this agreement as I have been waiting to receive my salary and have to work a month in advance until I get it – I shall make payments by June without problems.
Problem is – they all agreed 6th May, and now on the 13th, they obviously haven’t received it. None of them have contacted me (to my knowledge) since then, but I am wondering what happens now.
The question I am asking is do you think they will just turn up on my doorstep and do a doorstep collection? I haven’t received any letters from any of them saying it has been passed to a debt collection agency, so would I receive these prior to them turning up on my doorstep? Is it normal practice for them to turn up? I’m worried sick about this and its making me ill with worry. I cant get ill though because I need to work to be able to afford to pay the debt.
I will be ok come June to catch up with them, but what happens until then? Please help me – any advise at all would be so helpful.

Don't worry about anyone turning up on your doorstep, they will contact you by letter or phone before things go that far. The debts would usually get passed to a DCA and they most definately contact you and give you a chance to pay up before paying a visit.

Phew - that has put my mind at rest a tiny bit.
I will ring them all this week and explain to them - I dont want to ignore it at all, and I can start making full payments in june, just need them to hold off until then and not sure if they will because I have already failed on my promise to them of payment by 6th May0
