getting a mortgage and changing jobs

like the title says, i'm going to be applying for a mortgage soon and am currently employed by a company (3 months so far) after coming from self employment. One of the reasons for leaving self employment was so that we could get a better rate and make it easier to get a mortgage (as well as a good way to top up the deposit )
My question is, what would happen if i wanted to go back to self employment? Do the mortgage lenders care , or just care about you making the payment each month? Is it in the contract that you need to tell them each time you change jobs or go from employed to self employed?
thanks in advance!

Lenders will judge you on your current circumstances and its not in the contract that you need to tell them of every change of circumstance.0

You have to be able to prove your income. If you've got a new job or changing jobs, they like to see at least 2 months regular pay cheques and they like to know that you've been with the same employer for a min of 6 months. Halifax are not particular. Rate's aren't gr8 - depends what you want. They like to know of your future plans, but don't tell them when you sign. lol.0
