Hi all, please assist with any information on my predicament. I started DMP with CCCS in Nov 06, due to the lack of job at the time, I strugled to make payments and my plan was almost cancelled but then I got a job so paying was ok. My review came earlier this year and since the start I had left a debt out though I was not spending on it (Argos card) I somehow left it out because the payment was quite easy I thought. On review I mentioned the card and explained why it did not cross my mind to mention it (My fault and I regret that big time). CCCS said that I needed to proof that I was not spending of which I did by sending several statements which showed no expenses on the card but they wanted a letter from Argos to say the account was closed. Argos on the other hand won't talk to me because I have been issued a default and my details passed on to debt collectors.
I explained this to CCCS but they still insisted on the letter from Argos who keeps telling me the same thing. Now CCCS wrote me to advice that my DMP with them have now been cancelled and my creditors will be contacting me directly. WHAT DO I DO FROM HERE PLEASE HELP AND ADVISE.

You could try another non profit debt management company, or a self administered DMP. I think other folk have done that, but someone who knows more about it will be along soon.

Oh dear!
I would say the same as Boredofbeingathome. I think the other non-profit debt management charity is Payplan.
Sorry I don't know how DMP's work so can't help any more than that.
Do you know how much you still owe on your DMP debts and could you manage them yourself as you now have a job? May be tough but stick around here and you will get loads of sound advice and moral support.
Good luck

Thanks guys, I realy appreciate the responces and it has somehow releaved me a little to know that I won't be going back to the days of running away from a private number when my phone rings. If I go to other non profit debt management companies, will they not prosecute me for what happened with CCCS? And if I am to go alone (self administered DMP) where do I start from? Has anyone read any thread or done a write up on going alone? Thanks all.0

If you do your own DMP (I have from the beginning!) take a look at the national debtline website it is fantastic. They have a payment calculator to work out what people should be getting and a downloadable (but I personally would request a printed one) booklet on debt which certainly boosts your confidence when you know your rights.
If you do do your own DMP just make sure you keep all your letters filed up to date and record every payment you send or letters. I mainly use standing orders (never direct debits!) and one company has a cheque payment. I don't hear from my creditors for months on end now.0 -
Thanks Rayday2. My debt is about 49000 at the moment a drop from about 56000, will a personal DMP still work with these guys? I will go onto the national debt line now thanks0

The level of your debt is really a bit irrelevant. What is important is that you are consistant in your approach, stick at your budgets and arrange the payments to be regular. The fact you have been on a DMP for a while stands you in good stead anyway.
Some people come off DMPs with companies anyway after a while to handle their own so they can chisel away any little ones or problem creditors. But if after reading up you don't feel like it National Debtline themselves in some cases do do DMP and then there is Payplan or even your local CAB but check if they have a debt advisor there first for a better service.0
