Reclaiming Bailliff Charges

Today I have had to pay a bailiff for an unpaid parking ticket, for which he charged 2200% in costs - yes you've read it right. I have read the threads on what bailliffs can and can't do but they clamped my husband's car and a pick-up truck arrived to take it away - so we had no choice but to pay it. Is there anything I can do to contest the unfair charges?

Bank charges pale into insignificance where these charges are concerned.

no not really provided they have acted within the law.It is possible however that they haven't for example the cost to attend with a vehicle to take your car away must be reasonable.ie if they have charged you £300 and you can reasonably prove that to hire a suitable vehicle for the same time would only cost £100

Thanks for your reply - this was without a charge for the pick-up truck - otherwise I would have had further costs. If I get a breakdown of the costs and I can prove they are unreasonable where do I go next?
