In the beginning God said "let there be light" ... that's why we have all these freebie bulbs. ;D0
-
just recieved 2 of these philips 20w energy saver light bulbs this morning. Both these bulbs are faulty, when the light is swithed off they flash every 5 or 6 seconds.
I've just phoned iguanadirect 0845 11 22 247 and they said they've had a lot of calls about these, told me not to use them and they will send me out 2 more which will be a different brand.
My complaint is genuine but a good excuse for anyone who has already recieved some to send for some more me thinks!0 -
they said to me to send mine back then would send a replacement pack out :-/0

I received some which I thinks is broken....it rattles!!
Thanks, ill ring them now!!!0 -
Both my bulbs rattle but they work fine when switched on its just when switched off that they flicker on and off sounds very strange but true.0

The rattle is normal, and not broken at all.
I have these bulbs in my house before the offer and they do all rattle.
The flickering when switched off is usually caused by using a non-standard light switch, such as a dimmer or timer switch.
It is not recommended to use dimmers or electronic switches with energy saving bulbs. It does actually say this on the box0 -
Many of the £1 stores have 60W equivalents.
They are generally nowhere near as good as the Philips ones, the poundland ones generate a nasty bluish light0 -
