Hi All,
New on here, so hello to you all.
I have applied for a loan from halifax but they have asked for a Guarantor, but what does this mean?, what do they do, do they contact the Guarantor by letter?phone?fax?.
the Guarantor would be my partners auntie, does this matter?
Any help would be superb.

Yes it matters to Halifax - it has to be someone with a good credit history and if you default then she has to pay.
To make it legal she will need to get independent legal advice from a solicitor so she is clear to what she is signing.0
