Good time for haggling at MFI

I have just had a kitchen fitted by MFI. We got a good price for it several weeks ago and didn't have to wait more than six weeks for an MFI fitter to undertake the work. While he was in the house, I asked him how work was going and he noted that things were about to get quiet. Apparently, this is an extremely lean time for kitchens, because the summer promotions are now all over (at least in peoples' minds; MFI appear to have permanent promotions!!) and, usually, everybody now waits for the Boxing Day sales before spending serious money on kitchens. Although MFI uses self-employed fitters, it does not guarantee them work, so as not to be stuck with employee costs during quiet periods.
Nevertheless, now might not be a bad time to haggle in MFI if you are thinking of buying a kitchen. They aren't selling very many and might be open to haggling.
In general, while promotions on these big chains are ongoing, a shop assistant told me some time ago that Bank Holidays are always the best time to make big purchases for the home since stores often add an extra discount.
Hope that helps somebody make money!

im still haggling for them to finish off my kitchen they started over 3 years , 2 flooded kitchen, 4 work tops, a conception and birth of my son.
they have no longer contacted me after i phoned and wrote, my floor has still to be tiled my lights have yet to be installed and the crap job they did on the cupboards has not been replaced. they are quite possibly the biggest showers of !!!!e i have ever had the misfortune of giving money to.
i knew it was a bad sign when all the kitchen stuff turned up 4 weeks before the kitchen fitters and it had to be stored in the hall, down stairs bog, front room and other places.what is the plural of moose?

Report them to trading standards or go to small claims court for compensation.0

hehe
small claim court wont get involved as the kitchen cost more than 5 grand although i could try and just claim that amount.
the head office refused to deal with me because the kitchen fitting date was 1 year from when i phoned them ( i was still in contact with the shop and was still having people out to fix things at this time) they said ahh you have had it for 1 year so we wont give you your money back.
the last i heard from the tiler when i booked the day off work for him to tile the kitchen floor was when i phoned him when he was 2 hours late because 'my mother in law died'
i guess he had the day off to celibrate but never heard from him again.what is the plural of moose?

get your own fitters much cheaper......in fact ours was 1/3rd of the cost - 900.00 compared 2600.00 AND ours did alot more work the MFI planks wouldnt do....to be honest the MFI guy was an idiot as my mates are in the trade but build rather than install kicthens and 900.00 was goodStevie Coppell's record breaking blue and white royal army - championship winners 2005-60 -

" questions royalsteve...
A. Did you get a cheap rate from your 'mates'?
and, if not...
B. What location are your mates in?
I'm looking at a house to buy and it needs a new kitchen. I want to go with small local recommended firms. I'm in Grimsby, Lincolnshire.

Better still install your own Kitchen and get a fitter to fit the benches for £150.00 .We had the design done by B&Q free, received a plan, made up the units placed them level to plan and got in a specialist work bench fitter and it looks great.0
