Student + Summer = Need Job!

I have 3 months free from Mid-June until Mid-September!

I live in a town, which in fairness doesn't have the best of employment opportunities, and need some advice on how to get some cash, because I want to save for the next uni. year.

Currently, I've got probably over a year in admin (NHS GP surgery). Learned quite a lot there, but a lot of admin temporary jobs are looking for someone who has the confidence and experience. Don't get me wrong, I am confident, but things such as minutes, letters and invoice (although did them at GNVQ ICT), I have not revisted since! Have two years retail experience too.

I don't have a car, so not sure if that cuts any possibilities! But I am looking to earn at least money to live on, so maybe £40.00 a week, BUT I'd love it if I could get extra money to save up... and any work experience (I want to work with children) would be a bonus!

No idea where to start...

Are these mystery shop things worth it, or any other schemes...?

    Hey :)
Why don't you register with a couple of recruitment agencies and see if you can get an office admin job for the summer? Also there's bound to be a few pubs nearby where you could work behind the bar. I know the feeling of being a student and needing a summer job, as I'm currently job hunting myself! Good luck!

With agencies sometimes they will give you temp work. So one day you will be working in Argos, one day in some factory down the road etc.etc. But other times they may have a permeant job.

I am going back to my old job at Dominos as they are short staffed and its easy money. Just go around and ask in shops 'are you looking for employments?', they'll either say yes bring in a CV etc. or no not at the moment, or even, no but try again in a month as we will then.

There must be a lot of families out there looking for childcare help during the school holidays. Have you thought of advertising in local shops etc. Especially as you want to work with children?
