Dealing with bank advice needed please

Hi guys
My arranged overdraft with my bank is not getting any smaller, the interest payments are eating up so much of the monthly payments it's getting very difficult and frustrating. Has anyone dealt with their bank directly in organising a freeze of the interest or arranging a payment plan or do you all go through CAB or CCCS? I would like to attempt this myself but unsure if it can be done and if so what do I send them to confirm what my monthly outgoings are and what I can afford?
They have not contacted me to pay this off but it is a constant worry I need to deal with it before it gets to that stage.
All advice greatly appreciated.
Thank you.
