Motorbike holiday Scotland

Myself and partner are going to Scotland next week on our motorbikes. Hopefully up to the Highlands. We haven't booked anywhere yet - has anyone any tips for anything (places to go, places to stay etc). We are trying to keep it as cheap as possible.
