When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free.
Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important.
Today I will/have:
have a great day everyone, funny how Monday's don't seem so bad when the sun is shining:D
Hi to all the regular posters:hello: :hello: :hello: and to the newbies:D
Andan hope you have a better day today, if it is any consolation I have an assignment due 3 days after getting back from hols and don't intend to even look at it till I return as have a mental block about starting it:o

Today I will/have:
- Check online banking done
- Clicks done
- Storecupboard lunch
- Roast dinner leftovers for tea
- Need to make a loaf in breadmaker
- Check and water everything in greenhouse/veggie plot
- Have a no spend day
- Sort out tickets.passports.insurance and spending money for holiday tomorrow. Not strictly moneysaving but would be costly if we forgot something;)
- Claim some lieu time from work for out of hours work I did yesterday evening. Don't get paid overtime so need to make sure I get the time off.

Hi!
Do you mind if I post the big things I've done?
OK, I've spoken to CCCS - seems things not as dire as I thought!
Have applied for basic bank account - takes 7 days though.
And for me, the biggie - realised that although I have a scarey overdraft with my existing bank, that the money I pay into it is actually MY money, not theirs. Now getting my head round the fact that the o/d is another debt that I'm now taking steps to sort out.
Still to do - ring Estate Agents for their help/advice on getting £500 reservation fee I'd paid to new builders back - my buyer pulled out so they've un-reserved the house I was hoping for and fee supposedly non-refundable! AGH!Single mum of 2 just trying to get by! :-)0 -
