Everyone else has gone on Holiday for the rest of the month so i have the house to myself (Woo!! Partytime!!) but I also have to fend for myself.

I am going to go through the freezer and the OS board to see just how cheaply I can live for the rest of the month. I reckon that i should get away with just buying fruit, veg and milk so that is my challenge.

Also trying to speak to Barclaycard Loans to find out when my monthly payment is due as I can;t find a pattern to it on my bank statements. They keep leaving me on hold. While i am on i need to ask for a statement as I have had nothing from them since I took out the loan.

Blimey I'm impressed. I actually got through to a young man at Barclaycard who appeared to know what he was doing and was very quick and helpful.

I also think I might have cracked my car insurance renewal. It is due in 8 weeks time and I have now lost the points off my licence that I got for being a naughty boy :D

I have got a quote for £185 fully comprehensive which is the best quote I can find. But then with cashback from Quidco it should end up being under £100 :T :T

(I know you shouldn't count the cashback as part of the cost and the quote is cheaper than the others without it!!)

So, a few posts back i said how the nice lady at the bank had said i could reduce my OD limit each month just by asking.
Well today I asked if they could knock the £75 bit off it so it was a multiple of 100 then I could knock 100 off each month.

When she tried it turned out she couldn't. If I want to reduce it I have to go in to the main branch 5 miles away and have an appointment with an advisor who will then put in an application for a changed limit!

So instead I will have to just pretend the limit is less than it tells me on the screen. I suppose it doesn't rely matter as long as I don;t spend it. When I have paid it all off i will ask for an appointment. She warned me today that if I make an appointment now, they might decide to reduce it by too much and leave me struggling to repay it.

I was supposed to be trying not to spend anything but I did slip at the farm shop while I was getting the veg.

I splashed out on a large chicken for £9. But I had one breast roasted for dinner today, the other breast will be done tomorrow tea with sweet and sour sauce. I'll strip the meat off the legs/wings to make a pie with for wednesday tea/thursday lunch and finally the carcass wil make a nice base for a soup so I haven't done too bad really.

Also they do fish on a saturday so I was awfully cheeky and asked what they did with the tray containing all the trimmings (heads/tails/shells etc) so he gave me a big bag of them which are now bubbling away on the stove with various other bits for a fish soup.
