    Coz, there are soooo many ways this may not pan out as you expect.

    What if one of them dies and the other one is befreinded by someone that they come to rely on and then leave everything to them.
    Ive seen this happen several times.

    Thanks guys. I just wanted to know if it was a bad idea to get a mortgage with a partner in the meantime, as I didn't know if I would lose out by doing that.

    If they did die soon then it will be a bit more effort than if you'd held off but you need to do what's best for you now and as the phrase goes, play the position on the chess board in front of you.
