The links seem to work fine if you cut out the bit that begins "ref="
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Paladone-!!!!-Face-Soap/dp/B000FBWI4U/ for example.
There's no need to include "ref=pd_sim_dbs_k_h_b_cs_3_img". I have no idea if this bit leads to commission for the original poster, but people posting Amazon links could protect their reputations and avoid being portrayed as scamming spammers by taking care about things like this. Not that I am saying that the original poster is a scamming spammer, like.
I copied the link directly from the amazon page. I know nothing about "refs" and don't get "credit" for anything.0 -

Amazon has a "referral scheme", which allows people to promote things on sale on the internet and these people get commission for doing so. I'm sure it's against the rules here. I checked and see that when you go onto an Amazon page from the home page it has the same "ref=...." suffix. I apologise if anything I said above caused any offence.needaspirin wrote: »I copied the link directly from the amazon page. Perhaps you would look at my post #12 Josie. It says: "I copied the link directly from the amazon page. I know nothing about "refs" and don't get "credit" for anything."
If you think I am some kind of Con-Person perhaps you had better report me.

Go to the amazon home page, search for the item. you will find that the URL is quite long. It fairly clearly doesn't mean that the original poster is getting a commission. Look at my posts 11 and 13 where I have apologised for making this error. I suggest you check it out and then apologise too.Sorry, but this is against the rules of MSE, trying to get money from referring others through posting links like this. Don't have a problem with the soap, yes it's funny, just with people taking the pee!0 -

Steady on! Natural mistake - for some reason I thought MSE was about saving money and sharing ideas about that & let's face it there's so much spam around on here it gets difficult to tell! Sorry OP & I just didn't get what was the bargain / deal etc.
If you look at other Amazon links on here loads of them are referrals which aren't allowed and as someone else said half the link is missing so you can't see.0
