500gb WD USB hard drive - £58, delivered

Saw this on Amazon - seems like a good deal.

If anyone sees a cheap media centre hard drive, or one with network interface included, around, that would be handy - but this seems like a good deal for a 500gb USB job :)

That is a fantastic price and I'm sorely tempted. But having read the poor reliability reports (on the link you kindly gave) I'd be wary of using it for anything without adequate backup elsewhere.

Absolutely - one shouldn't save any important data without adequate backup elsewhere. At the price drives are now, one could pretty much buy two of them and use one for backup :)
