DCA for Insurance company

I've been pursued by a DCA,supposedly acting on the behalf of Elephant.co.uk.
I sent them a CCA request form a while back, but in hindsight I forgot to ask if they would be bound by that request?
Also I wrote and cncelled the insurance with elephnt a good couple of years ago.Why would I now be getting pursued?I was up to date on the insurance when it was cncelled?

My guess would be that the insurance payments were covered by a loan agreement for the annual amount that allowed you to pay monthly (I have contents insurance that does this) but I don't know for sure - have you any of the original paperwork??£34,547 (Dec 07); Current debt: £zilch (Debt free December 2010)
Sealed Pot #389 (2010=£133)0 -
No original paper work i'm afraid, have no idea what to do?0
