Rip off at Belfast International Airport

Did you know you can no longer pick up passengers outside the terminal. You must go into the short stay carpark and there is no free time and the minimum charge is £1!...I was in the carpark for 3 minutes..total rip off!!

At least at the Belfast City airport you get the first 15mins free..more than enough time to pick someone up...well done City Airport!

Yeah it's a disgrace. I usually park on a laybay before the roundabout into the airport and wait to whoever I'm collecting to call me when they are outside, then I tell them to walk to the far end of the terminal entrance (where the longstay entrance is) and shove them in and go

I usually get the person collecting me to wait and then just come and pick me up at the drop-off area.

I didn't know it wasn't free for 15 minutes or so, disgraceful.

I was very late for a flight a couple of Sundays ago and gritted my teeth and pulled into the short stay, thinking it was £24 for 24 hours. On my return, found that not only had it gone up to £33 per day, but I was an hour late and was charged £66!! Never again! PS the flight was only £40 and yes, I would have missed it - they had to phone through to the pilot so see if he would let me board (at least that's what they said )

This airport is served by a range of frequent buses. So why does anyone need to drive there? And there are good security reasons for not allowing cars to wander up to the main entrance.

The airporter bus doesn't stop in my town and the times never seem to suit anyway. It's a good idea to take public transport I know, but the fact that the buses drive around empty most of the time tells you that they are not going where people want to go at the times they want to travel.

the public transport to the international is rubbish - so many times I've arrived back and seen that the next "Ulsterbus" was an hour away or worse tomorrow and it was only like 9pm at night! Many other airports put ours to shame - if they got the railway sorted I'd gladly use it

Its nearly a cheap to get the bus to Dublin !!
And the service isnt exactly frequent

Does anyone know of the best place to park for a weekend in Aldergrove ?
There seems to be a lot of alternatives out there

If you live in Derry there is only one option for the bus to the airport, unless you want to go around-about way.

The airporter (Derry-BFS) is soooo expensive. Especially if there are 2 or more people travelling.

    £27.50 return for 1 person
    £45 return for couple

It's much cheaper to get a bus to Dublin airport and fly from there!

Em, the Ulsterbus Airport Link goes around every 10 minutes I believe. From Europa to International and vice-versa. Its also 24hr, but becomes less frequent in the "weird" hours.
