Help with party throwing please

We have invited 30 adults 15 children and 4 babies who do eat solids to a party.
I have read the stickies that we have but im all confused with portion sizes and how much people will eat
For desert to feed everyone there will be cake, then I thought of gateux (how many?)
Fot the main buffet im thinking of buttering cobs then making meat and cheese platters up.
I thought ham and another sliced meat again can anyone tell me how many slices and cobs do you think we will need?
I was also thinking of
Cocktail sausages
Sausage rolls
Savory eggs
Crisps
Pot salad
A big salad bowl
Crisps
Mini pizzas
Can anyone please give me any more ideas or approx amounts you think we may need
Its for a Christening afterwards party
Also does anyone have a rough idea how long people stay for such occasions as the room hire is hourly
Sorry there so many questions and if anyone has any tips id be most greatful
Also there is no alcohol so its soft drinks only so I was thinking cup drinks for little people and can soft coke/orange type drinks for adults again how many do you think
Thanks

Well my dad used to run a catering company and he would of served it per adult and then half the portion for children.
So on an adult serving it would be;
1 cob
2 slice of meat (you can do this for each type or just 1 type it will still be plenty)
4 small party sausage rolls
1 large savoury egg or 2 small ones
half a bag of crisps (you may find children will eat slightly more as they tend to pick depending on age)
3 dessert spoons of pot salad
1 handful of salad
half a mini pizza
For the gateux if i was going to serve them then i would buy 3 large ones however with the weather being as it is, it might be too hot for it to last the day but if you really want gateux then keep it frozen till the morning of the christening so it will be defrosted buy the time it comes to eat it but im sure cake will be enough.
If you do venture into sandwiches (which i dont advise as they go stale very quickly) then it would be half a sandwich each or maybe just a plain roll and a large tub of butter/marg so people can make themselves a sandwich if they decide, however i think what you have would be plenty assuming its a lunchtime affair.
On the hall stituation i would estimate 3 hours again assuming it is at lunchtime as people will need to leave to start dinner etc
On the drinks you may find it cheaper to do jugs of squash for the children and for the adults buy 2lt bottles of soft drinks and just provide plastic cups which you can find in most pound shops again i would estimate about 1/2 a bottle or about 2-3 cans of soft drink per adult and 2 cups for the kids dont forget the weather has been very hot so you may find that people will drink more and eat less also if possible could people coming not bring something to add to the buffet?
