it does require 4 x AA alkaline batteries - i'm assuming you can use AA rechargable ones in there? cos if not, it's gonna eat tthrough batteries very quickly indeed!

Fuji's have always been light on batteries - a couple of sets of anything over 1800 mAh (Nimh) should be more than good enough.

Another person who lurves this camera and I find it is less battery greedy than my old compact!
I recently bought some of the Duracel power 3x batteries and one set lasted a whole 5 days of constant snapping at Disneyland paris!
Tomorrow is always fresh, with no mistakes in it!

Updated firmware, drivers, and manual, etc for this model can be located HERE if anyone's interested.

SuperWarranty information can be found HERE @ very reasonable prices direct from manufacturer.

Of course there is also Refurbished Models available which would save you a tenner or so, which would basically cover you for the 2 year SuperWarranty.

There is a box for promotional codes, but i've been unable to locate any.

hmmm my dead old 2mp camera is in dire need of replacement - AAs die very quickly, and have to wait eternity between shots for next one, especially when flash used.

Can I ask......ok so it seems like AA use much better now on it (was orig looking at getting a panasonic fz8), but because it uses AA does this mean perhaps its slower to charge the flash up to be ready? so how long between flash shots

Its a great camera. Recharables last very well used constantly on Holiday in Florida. Flash could be quicker but no problem with it!! Use 2700 mh rechargables Have two sets, only changed once in a month!!
Oh and it was over 200 when i brought my model.

or Argos for same price, but i'm sure that when i got one of these it was £93 at the checkout just the other day. And battery wise its still running on the originals that it came with. and well happy with it too.
