Battenberg Cake

Does anyone know a recipe for this ???

I have some rolled marzipan that needs using and, rather then let DH sit there and eat it, thought I would try to do something useful with it !!!

Squares knitted for my throw ~ 90 (yes!!! I have finally finished it :rotfl: )
Squares made for my patchwork quilt ~ 80 (only the "actual" quilting to do now :rotfl:)

    Thank you

Going to have a try at that. Though 9 eggs seems a lot - do you think this is a typo ??? Seems strange that they have put 3 eggs beaten three times in the recipe ???

You need one egg per 50g of flour.
    Looks like a mistake!!

Thats what I thought - lol

Can only imagine what I would get if I went for 3 eggs for every 50g !!!!

Will try it with just the 3 eggs.

  • AFAIK, two bog standard Victoria sponges, but done in matching rectangular tins, one with the food colouring in, the othe plain.
The fun bit is the construction afterwards! Apricot jam "glue" is nice as a change from raspberry.
    Enjoy!
