Looking ahead

I posted a few times a few months ago but have not posted in a while. I posted that we were in £35k of debt and that I had not told my OH, well he knows everything now and we are looking into doing a DMP with CSSS. I knew he would not go mad when i told him the amount but put it off for months as I did not want him to worry, but he knows now. Was shocked at how much we owe but knows we are both to blame. So we have sat down and gone through everything and are in the process of opening a new bank account. Once we have started our DMP i am hoping to join the DMP support thread and get a number.

I just wanted to thank everyone on this site as the amount of knowledge I have gained from reading all your experinces has given me the courage to know I can do this and not to be scared of the phone or post, I know it wont be easy and we may have tough times ahead but we are both looking forward to dealing with our debts.

Well done for taking control of things - and good for you for telling your OH - it is always so much easier if you are in it together. There will good times and harder times ahead but you have each other and everyone on here to help you and you will get there - we all will! Will be rooting for you!

Thank you mizmir I think it is going to be very helpful knowing that if we are having a tough time then I can post on here for advise and know that there are people out there who know exactly what we are going through. Hopefully in time I may be able to post advise for other people.

no need to wait until your dmp is up and running before you join the dmp mutual supporters - head over there now!!
