bank statement and loans

HI there. We currently got approved for a Tesco loan. They need 3 months bank statement. But our latest 3 months bank statements are with another bank as we are in the middle of purchasing a property. In the application form, our reason for the loan is consolidation.

Can I give an internet copy from Natwest? Should I tell them that the latest ones are with another bank as we are acquiring a mortgage?

What do they look for anyway when they ask for 3 months bank statement? What should I tell them?

Hope somebody can help me.

Ana

  • When we look for 3 months bank statements we are looking for ability to repay, so look for income on a regular basis and make sure the applicant hasn't bounced any payments or gone over their OD limit.

The last 3 months is because it gives an up to date picture and to avoid "cherry picking" of the months where there is money by the client.

I would suggest you call them and explain, can you get the mortagage company to fax them over to you then fax them on to Tesco?
  • thanks. Do you think an internet copy is OK? I can download the last 3 months from Natwest.
  • Some loan companies will accept this provided you have taken the Internet copies to your branch for them to be confirmed as true copies of your accounts.
