Although its only an extra £5 for twice the speed 256k bb fits the bill nicely for an awful lot of people who need the flexibility of broadband but are not high bandwidth users 8)

I can top that....

V21 do 512k for £9.99 for first two months then then normal price of £16.99 a month.

This offer takes a lot of beating.

Watch out for high set up costs and equipment charges.
Always try to do a calculation based on costs for the whole year as a lot of these offers aren't as good when taking into account the true running costs.

TalkTalk by Carphone Warehouse run a very similar plan to telewest broadband but for 512k and no caps (+ free equipment). Costs come out as £19.99 pm, but you get their Talk2 option included which means all off peak calls to UK landlines are included in the price.
