Rockwell - missing payments?!

My ex partner has been getting phonecalls from Rockwell hassling for more money, and saying we have missed payments etc so today i rang them to find out what this was all about. they told me the balance is £130 and the last payment was received in march... that's weird anyway because they'd been phoning then as well to say we hadn't paid. our actual last payment was 28th of april. they told my ex they recently took the debt on from another company, maybe that's what has cause the problems. anyway, i keep my snowball up-to-date so i know that the balance should actually be £40! so where has the other £90 gone?! they are going to send me a statement, but i'm really worried about this. luckily we pay by standing order, but this means i will need to order statements from natwest which they'll probably charge for. argh!! has anyone else experienced this?

If you were already making agreed payments to another company, then the 'debt' should not have been passed to another debt collection agency.
This will cause distress and confusion and is in contravention of OFT Guidelines on Debt Collection:

If Rockwell continue to harass you, report them to Trading Standards.I am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. I have made MANY mistakes and have OFTEN been the unwitting victim of the the shamefull tactics of the Financial Industry.
If any of my experiences, or the knowledge that I have gained from those experiences, can help anyone who finds themselves in similar circumstances, then my experiences have not been in vain.
